Junior sez

h Happy New Year.

He loves live plants. Me too. He loves the sun. Me too.

I have progressed to removing the bulbs from the fridge. It's cold here today, well, for Coastal South Carolina-it's 50. Junior trying to help me type-he gets cold. I'll get out there to plant those bulbs in a minute.

What a beautiful picture. We have two cats. Mango and Sherbert. Sherbert is still a kitten.

Unfortunately, we're in the talks for another Holler and my husband says that before we have a new little creature who makes poop for us to clean, we need to find new homes for our non-human poopers. As heartbreaking as it is, I think he's right. We went from living in rural NJ in a large home to a small apartment in Philadelphia a few months ago. I just don't think they're happy here. They need room and they want to go outside (something impossible here.) It stinks!

Hey,

That sounds hard.

Junior is an inside cat at the recommendation of my vet. Do they just need to adjust?

He is a big ole purty sweetie, though, isn't he!

It is hard, actually. One of our cats is still a kitten (just seven months old.) We weren't looking for another bed, as being a two pet family has worked out well for us. But he needed a home and had a very sad story (when we got him, he was only four weeks old!!!!). We thought that our older cat would be loving and maternal to him, but it was actually our dog who took on this role.

Our last home had three floors (which our dog hated and our cats adore.) There was always somewhere they quiet they could go to be alone. I suspect that when you are a cat who lives with two children under the age of five, you really value quiet time. Here, we have a one bedroom apartment. It has a bedroom, a loft that we use as a second bedroom and a common room. The cats are always trying to run out of our front door, which to me is a sign that they are trying to escape. It makes me sad.

In good news, I have a close friend who really loves our older cat and she says that when we're ready, she'll take her. Mango will live the good life at their house. She'll probably get cat massages, pedicures and wear a custom made tiara all day.
